What happens when you tap the mic

Two things at once: Mabel introduces herself and asks whether you have questions for her or would rather talk to me — and my phone starts ringing. You won't hear any ringing; she has you until I pick up. When I join, she goes quiet and stays on the line. If I can't get to the phone, she handles everything herself: answers, messages, bookings. That immediate-human-plus-receptionist flow is the white-glove service every Switchboard customer gets.

What you're hearing

No menus, no "press one." Mabel listens, answers from a business's own information, takes messages, and books real appointments on a real calendar. How to try it

Look for the blue mic button right after her name in the heading. Tap it to start, tap again to hang up. Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time — that's just so she can hear you.

Best on a laptop or phone with a working mic, in a reasonably quiet room. If you don't hear her, tap the "🔊 Tap to hear her" chip that appears.
